Description

In 1831 upon completion of the new family vault, the remains of George and Martha Washington were moved to where they now rest. This vault, located on the grounds of George Washington's estate, Mount Vernon, in Virginia, was built based on his design and in the location he had previously chosen as his desired final resting place.
