Built in the early 1200s by King Henry III, the Curfew Tower stands along the perimeter of the lower ward of the expansive fortifications of Windsor Castle. Windsor Castle is one of the royal residences used by the reigning monarchy of Great Britain and is located in the English county of Berkshire. Since the time of Henry I, it has been used by succeeding monarchs and it is the longest-occupied palace in Europe.
